07-30-06 Promy Prep!

Sean and I wanted to make sure we were all set to do the Promy runs when Blix returns from vacation. This time I took picutres. Yeah like a tourist :)

07-29-06 Bliss is starting to look like a WHM!

Yay! Holy breastplate!

I couldn't decide if I was going to buy it for Bliss, but with a NIN tank I take hits every now and again. More so than when Sean was playing PLD. It can't be helped really, NIN just doesn't keep hate the way a PLD can... but I love that he gets mad when the mob hits me.

We were able to get a ton done today!

• XP party for 2 hours in Western Altepa on beetles. Most of us were able to get 2 levels during that time. 2SAM, 1THF, 1NIN, 1WHM and BRD. It was sexay!
• Tac got his AF1! He was able to solo his using his RDM.
• Bliss got her AF1! Tac's RDM helped me get it :) It was a blast!
• Mercury got his AF1! Tac, Bliss and Mercury had fun beating on some spiders!
• I used Jenmist to run Mercury to Xarcabard to get his Tele-Vahzl crystal :)
• Sean used Seangem to help Bliss run to Xarcabard to get her Tele-Vahzl crystal :)

We were not able to party with Anna's COR but we still had fun. We set a soft time of 2 PM EST for Sunday.

OMG! Western Altepa Dessert was a blast!

But it wasn't the party setup or the XP that made it so much fun... it was playing with our friends. 5 of the 6 players were NFoD members! And the pick-up BLU was also a good player!

07-26-06 Gotta love a static party!

It felt like old times...

I was WHM, Sean was my tank and Tac was pulling.

But there was something different. Several things actually.

• No screaming at the monitor. By me or anyone else in my household. I actually had fun while gaining XP. It really has been forever since that has been the case. We got to hang out with people that KNOW how to play the game! Seriously, a great way to end the day.
• I have way more MP! Man I love being a Taru!
• Sean is not a MP sponge. Blinks rule!
• My MP regen while healing is awesome. Between the cookies, pineapple juice and Ballad from Nuker's BRD I build MP back really fast.

Shortly before I logged out, I asked Annaka if he had anything around late 30 - early 40 range. His response was "I have a 40 COR". I have to say that BRD and COR in one party is so sexay. But I think it is best to have someone other than the COR pull. Just takes too long if they have to buff the party between kills.

I am actually looking forward to partying again tonight. If we don't it's not the end of the world. Tac said that he is going to go NIN/RDM. But his SAM is awesome. We have only told him for the past year that SAM is the perfect job for him. He is so Skillchain driven that it is just a natural job for him to play. The only downside is that with SAM skillchaining like a madman, it is vital to have a good BLM. Shame that we don't have that role filled by our static. We are just going to have to go with what we can find.

(Yes Tac, I put this here for you to read as a hint that we really, really, really like your SAM and we think that you should table the idea of NIN/RDM.)

07-24-06 Yay! Fireworks! And Nuker hits lvl 75 on BLM... again!

07-22-06 Bliss the BLU! You knew I would... just had to be done!

Just like all the other mage jobs I have played, I tried BLU on Jenmist first and then decided to play it on Bliss. At least this time I didn't wait 69 levels before making that decision like I did with WHM lol.

Sean made it to level 35 on Mercury's NIN. Just 2 more levels and we can party. But we have decided to keep xp parties for the weekends. It is just too difficult for us to party during a weeknight. Honestly, we are staying up too late.

I'm sure this is a clear sign of our age getting the best of us... but screw it. We have earned our ages :)

07-21-06 Morvano, the latest SMN!

We had such great plans for this evening: XP to level 37!

Not exactly what happened:

• I took a nap waiting for Bob to get out of party as his BLM.
• Tac went out.
• Bob gets offered to a Manaburn Airship run.

So, we didn't level. Oh well... always tomorrow night!

I did help Morvano get Ice weather to complete SMN and escorted him to Tele-Vhazl to get his crystal. It was a good practice run for when I need to escort Mercury to get his. I'm pretty sure I will need to run Bliss to get hers but it really shouldn't be that difficult.

07-20-06 I swear I will try and update this Blog over the weekend!

It has been a crazy week in our neck of the woods... and as usual, my Blog is usually the first to suffer from neglect. Just too busy to take a lunch and post. I am going to try and post some of the pictures that I have on my home PC and give some of the pictures below descriptions over the weekend.

I should update the job levels for our characters while I am at it :P

07-10-06 Mercury LVL 25 NIN!

Yes, after countless hours of powerleveling, Mercury is now a level 25 NIN! Thank goodness!

Why is this level so important? Sean promised me that we will farm/craft together to rebuild gil and get Rank 3 for Bliss and Mercury.

We have talked about farming on the weekdays and only partying on the weekends. I'm sure that there will be expections, but we really need to be able to walk away from the game on weeknights to get more done in RL. The kids are going back to school at the end of July and we need to be available for homework, quality time, etc. and that is just easier to do when we are not in party.

Sean also opened and completed the last 2 Gobbie Bag quests on Mercury so he is able to carry more NIN tools.

I mentioned to Bob that I need to get the Pilgram Wand for Bliss and he said that he will help me get one. The MP regen +2 while healing is pretty sexy and I can use that until level 51 when I get my Dark Staff.

07-09-06 Nuker the Bard?! O.o

Been a few days since I actually posted something other than pictures so I will give an update.

• Mercury is now a level 23 NIN. I have powerleveled him all of the way because I want to party with him as my 30 BLM .
• Bob is playing BRD on Nuker... yes his A.D.D. is in full swing once again. The curent goal is to get his BRD to 30 and we will all party together. We shall see. I personally think he will start to dig the fast pace of BRD and not want to stop leveling at 30.
• Mercury now has level 9 fame in Sandy and in Windy. We are going to get his Bastok fame to level 9 after we get his NIN to 25.
• No news to report on Jenmist or Bliss... I've spent all of my time in game farming, powerleveling or crafting.
• Sean was able to open and complete the first 4 Gobbie Bag quests. He should be able to open the last two now that he has level 9 fame in two cities... but the weekends are always a bad time to buy quest related items from the AH. So we will have to table this item until the middle of the week.

One sad bit of news to report: Flick has once again left the game. He will be missed. I do have his email and he has mine (I'm starting to think everyone has mine lol) and can contact me for a worldpass if he wants to come back.

Sean and I like being a constant in this game. I can't see us leaving any time in the next few years. There is so much to do and we like having a LS that is home for our friends. I'd like to think that it is anyway... and like most homes, ours is disfunctional :)
