06/24/07 Chilling with the Nuker...
Just hanging out with Nuker waiting for Fafnir to pop. Ah, the joys of an end-game LS. Stand around and pray that the NM pops yellow LOL.

06/27/07 I may cry...
My daughter wanted to play FFXI with us. This is the character that she created...
Such a proud moment... like mother, like daughter!

06/27/07 Mood buttons you can't wear to the office...
This has nothing to do with FFXI, but the following buttons were sent to me by a co-worker and I thought they were too cute to leave in an email. I must share!

/em updates her Blog!
Oh my, so much has changed since the last time that I posted on my little blog… it is hard to know where to start.
Well, I don’t play as often as I used to. Work is monopolizing most of my time these days. But the effort that I put in now will payoff in the long run (and has already) so it is well worth my absence.
NFoD is a virtual wasteland. Only the shell remains with little to no members on for days on end. This was largely due to the fact that Sean, Nuker and I needed to join an end-game linkshell to have any chance on obtaining the gear that we would like to see our characters in. Truth be told, the shell was dead long before we joined the new LS. With the exception of Blix, Annaka and the occasional resurrection of Flick on with us it was void of people. We tried joining other linkshells to entertain ourselves by helping out other players, but even that became old.
Although I am sad to see NFoD fade for now, we have had a ton of fun on the new LS. There is no point system for gear. Just show up to help farm and pop the NMs and you have a shot of getting the gear that you need. I have a spanking new Genbu shield and a Zenith Crown for my effort thus far with a realistic shot at even cooler gear with provides some motivation to continue.
Due to my limited playtime these days, it is nice to pop on just in time to help kill a lesser god for gear that someone needs. Makes me feel good to know that I helped and that this group of people are a grand collection of experienced badasses. It is nice to be associated with those types of players.
So far we have had little drama. There is a little associated with the migration of people from other linkshells. The vacancy is starting to cause alarm and resentment. The entire LS is made up of people like us that just want to play the game and advance as far as we can. It is not as cozy as NFoD… that will always be our home. However, it is a nice vacation spot for some fun, excitement and death!
Nuker is back to BLM again after his time as PLD. He was meant to be a BLM and it is nice to see him playing it again… he is, after all, the self proclaimed “sexay-est Tarutaru BLM in the mo-fuckin world bishes!”
Sean is bouncing between Seangem and Mercury, playing Mercury in the new LS and only popping on as Seangem for Dynamis to try and get gear for his 75PLD (finally!). He has a couple pieces of AF2 so far and he is really excited about that. But he is even more proud of Mercury’s NIN. He obtained Byakko’s haidate a few days ago and looks great! We picked up a few pieces of enmity + gear in hopes that he can hold hate better and is working on meriting it also. He capped critical hit rate increase a few weeks back and plans to work on Ninjitsu after enmity.
I had the hardest time deciding what I wanted to do. Problem is that I want to play for 8 hours a day… but with the crazy pace I am keeping at work and the really long hours, the last thing I want to do when I get home is sit in a chair in front of yet another computer >.< So, I had to focus what little time I have online to working on one character rather than trying to maintain two at the same time. It was a tough choice because I like each of my characters. Jenmist is my girl. We have gone through so much together… But Bliss is hella cute! I finally made a decision. Because Jenmist has both WHM and BRD she bring more to the table while on the new LS. We have a bunch of BRDs so in the even that we are short on WHM, I can still attend with Jenmist to get the rare ex gear for BRD and bring what the LS needs for the event. She already has some merits built on her WHM so she is not “gimped” unlike Bliss’ WHM who doesn’t have Protectra & Shellra V or Devotion. I think I will dress Bliss as a BLU and use it as a means to play solo on those nights where I don’t have a whole lot of time to focus on the game. I think I will try to level BLU while bouncing between my laptop doing work tasks and my PC playing the game. We will see how that goes.
Because I am playing on PC again, I am going to try to take screenshots of the various events that I attend as Jenmist. It is a blast and I would like to store the memories here to track our progress as a whole. We fought our first Kirin… and won! It could have went smoother (Astral Flow messed us up pretty good) but we recovered and pulled off the win. It was the first attempt for this LS and we did it in under 45 minutes. Pretty good for a new collection of people. We can only get better and I look forward to our next attempt.
I’m hoping that the new screenshots will drive me to post more on here. Not that I really care if anyone reads this. But I still think it is cool to watch how our characters progress. I was checking out my old (and I mean old!) posts and I relive the event all over again. I really wish we could have the NFoD crew with us on our new endeavors. They made everything so much fun and I missed them all the time. But I am optimistic that they will find their way home eventually. The nice part is that we are always there… until the game ends. And the odds of that happening in the next few years are slim considering that “Final Fantasy” is part of the title.
